How to Remove Helper King Ads Malware (Uninstall Guide)

Have you noticed lately that the sheer amount of 'Powered by helper king' or 'helper king ads' you are seeing when you're browsing or working online suddenly seem to have drastically increased in quantity? You may even be unfortunate enough to have an issue with annoying helper king pop-up adverts – even when you're using ad blockers and anti-malware programs. If either of those things are the case, then what you are looking at is adware – or advertising supported software. In this case, it's CrossRider adware which also displays ads by name.

While it's obviously that this adware isn't something that hides itself on your computer just because it's in your face it doesn't mean that it doesn't have anything to hide for adware is often the root cause of issues that you may well be experiencing on your computer.

The problems caused by Helper King

If you're now seeing numerous offers.bycontext.com pop-up or pop-under adverts (pop-ups are the ones that appear on your screen directly and pop-unders are hiding behind the page that you have open) you may have also noticed that your PC is now is running sluggishly and that your internet connection has slowed to a crawl. You might find that websites keep crashing or that other programs you have installed on your machine take ages to load. This is because adware installs a component on your computer which is busy working away behind the scenes and tracking the websites you visit so that it can target the adverts you see to your taste. The fact that you are being bombarded with Helper King pop-up windows doesn't help your operating system do its job efficiently either. File created by Helper King:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\helper king
  • C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\helper_king_updating_service.job
  • C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\helper_king_notification_service.job
  • helper_king_notification_service.exe
  • helper_king_updating_service.exe
The other irritating thing about this adware is that clicking on an advert can take you to a website that bears no relation to the ad. It's merely a site that the adware programmer wants you to visit – and chances are it's a site that may well be at the grayer end of the legitimate scale.

I'm probably right in thinking that whether you've been infected by a serious case of adware or not, you want to know how to stop it from infecting you.

How can I protect myself from Helper King adware?

Because it is often bundled with free software or files (freeware or shareware) it is probably the case that you installed the adware unknowingly when you were downloading something else. Therefore if you want to protect yourself – and we are assuming you do - you need to exercise more caution when you download files and programs from the internet. And remember, Helper King can be packaged with anything – even reputable programs. Don't download freebies such as wallpapers, desktops and emojis as these are prone to being adware loaded and ensure you trust the program and the publisher before you download something. In addition to this, always try and download software directly from the publisher and not a third party site.

On the plus side, this adware is normally mentioned in the License Agreement so read this carefully and make sure you know exactly what is being installed on your PC. Final word – install a reputable anti-adware program too!
