How to Remove PriceLess Adware (Uninstall Guide)

Being a victim of "Ads by PriceLess", or PriceLess adware as it's more commonly called, can be one of the most downright frustrating things that can happen to a computer user. Although this adware is not as dangerous as Trojan horses, spyware or rogue anti-virus software, it is still something that you should take steps to protect yourself from, and try and void at all costs. Adware, is a type of computer program that is used as a way of generating income and website traffic. In simplest terms it is a form of online marketing that displays advertising when you are connected to the Internet. But PriceLess goes even further by installing bogus web browser extensions and trying to hide its presence on your computer.

Some adware programs are created so that the adverts you see are integrated into the user interface of the software and others are shown on screen but PriceLess adware works in a different way. It injects ads into a website and even makes them look as they were displayed by a website owner. Such practice is clearly unethical. Not to mention that some of those ads are very misleading.

So what sort of things will you see advertised? PriceLess is normally one of two distinct sorts – you will either see ads that are completely random and for things that you don't have any interest in (these are often sites of a slightly more disreputable nature such as online gambling sites or even adult content – i.e. pornography) or they could be for goods or services that you are actually interested in purchasing.

But how and why are some ads by PriceLess connected to things that you are genuinely considering purchasing? (Or at least looking at wishfully!) It's no coincidence that a lot of the adverts you'll notice on screen are almost an exact match for products or services that you have been looking at very recently. That's where the more undesirable traits of advertising supported software come into play, because this adware is actually spying on your every online move.

Let's take an example. You've been looking online for ideas about planning a new kitchen. Now, no matter what website you are visiting, you are seeing adverts for home improvement stores and new kitchen cabinets. That's all down to adware's secret component which has been created to monitor which websites – and more specifically which pages and products you are looking at. The component collects this data and sends it back to the PriceLess's owner or programmer – who is then able to show you adverts that they think you will be interested in.

And of course, this isn't done to make your life easier, there is an agenda here at work and that is because, as touched upon earlier, it is used as a means of generating revenue. That's due to the fact that many programmers give away their programs (or share files) for free and adware is used as a way of recouping some of the costs involved in developing that program – or as a way to profit when sharing files or downloads.

But what effect can that have on you on me? On the plus side we have access to far more software programs for free, but it also means that we are sometimes subjected to annoying pop-up adverts and – of course – that we are being monitored by an unknown third party.

PriceLess can also slow your PC down because the tracker component is constantly working and relaying data to the programmer. It can have a real detrimental effect on your user experience, even slowing down your Internet connection too and causing your browser to crash. Your best line of defense? Install a good anti-virus program now!

To remove this adware from your computer and stop annoying ads, please follow the steps in the removal guide below.
