smss-DoOoM.vbe is an infection that spreads through removable media devices, such as USB drives and external hard drives. This virus turns all files on a removable media device to shortcuts. When you run the infected .lnk file on your USB drive for example, the smss-DoOoM virus infects your computer as well. This virus modifies Windows registry by adding numerous autorun keys and drops the following files on your computer: smss-DoOoMs.vbs, smss-DoOoM.vbe, smss-DoOoM.lnk, smss-DoOoMp.lnk. • Try and refrain from visiting websites of a 'dubious' nature such as adult and gambling sites – these are often targeted by Trojan Horse developers.
